You're invited to our 3rd solo exhibit of the amazing Tsholo "Splash" Motong from South Africa. We're excited to show his latest paintings, his amazing Shweshwe fabric collages, newspaper collages, and acrylic portraits.
In this 3rd exhibit, we'd like to take a deeper dive into Tsholo's work.
What's motivating him? What is South Africa? What we, as Americans, don't understand about South Africa?
We're beginning to tell the story of African spirituality and Ubuntu philosophy in this exhibit.
"Ubuntu" is sometimes translated as "I am because we are", and Tsholo's work reflects that philosophy, the way of living and the way of creating.
