Shipping policy

When we receive your order:

  1. Day 1: we'll send you an email the same day confirming the order and asking if you have any additional questions (e.g. a video of the work, framing questions, delivery estimates).
  2. Day 2:
    1. For original artwork: we'll bring it to the gallery and start working on a custom package for it. It takes 1 day for smaller artworks and up to 2 days for larger.
    2. For prints: we'll submit your order to the printshop.  Metal prints take ~5-7 business days, canvas prints 7-10 business days.
  3. Day 3: your artwork is shipped with UPS Ground.

Domestic Orders

A typical order is shipped within 2-3 business days from our gallery in San Francisco, CA.

All paintings and prints are shipped with UPS Ground domestically and internationally.  In the US, delivery times are typically 2-3 days for the West Coast and 1 week for the East Coast.  

Faster shipping options can be arranged upon request.

Domestic shipping is FREE for all items except extra large (see below).

International Orders

We also ship internationally. International delivery times vary: Western Europe takes 1-2 weeks with UPS Ground. We have shipped our artwork to Germany, Austria, the UK, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Switzerland, Australia, South Africa, and Canada.

For international orders, we recommend contacting us before placing your order so that we can correctly estimate shipping.

Art Shuttle / Extra Large Artwork

For very large artwork exceeding UPS size limits (165 inches in length plus girth), shuttle delivery can be arranged. The average cost in the US is $600-700, depending on location.  Delivery times vary between 3 to 6 weeks.  A dedicated art shuttle aggregates artwork from multiple locations and delivers it anywhere in the US.

Packaging

All shipped artwork is hand-packaged with 5 protective layers:

  • cardboard to protect the front surface
  • foam corners to corners protection
  • foam pouch for all-around protection and moisture
  • large bubble wrap for accidental drops and cushion
  • fiberglass tape-reinforced corners and edges for the cardboard box

Packaging Videos

Artwork comes in very different sizes and aspect ratios, so in most cases we have to build a custom cardboard box for each.  A custom cardboard box also has to be properly reinforced and protected based on the type of frame (e.g. heavier vs. lighter frame; glass or no glass).

When appropriate, we also add an extra layer of protection, a screen, in front of the painting's surface.  Usually made from the cardboard as well:
